Nathan Dodd's Biography

Nathan hails from Pontypridd where he works to fund his passion for Photography. Over a relatively short period Nathan has developed an instinctively artistic approach to his work. Greatly influenced by his memories Nathan has developed a portfolio of work that illustrates the images and landscape that form and fuel his creative energy.

“Light, Imagery, Perception and the relationship between them has always intrigued me; how subtle changes in one can have a profound impact on either, or each of the others, no matter how personal we think our own interpretation of any given scene, the true artist can plant a seed in our minds and from it grow the response he desires”.

“In no other medium is it more obvious or obscure than in the art of photography; surely what we see before us is an accurate representation of the truth? Surely what we see before us is a manipulation of a given image? My purpose is to blur the lines between these two polar opposites and present to you my collections in the hope that they are taken for what they appear to be and not necessarily what they are”.

“The coastline of Wales is a magical place for me; a place brimming with childhood memories of days that never end. I have always been fascinated by the thought provoking power of such a place; pondering on the devastating power of the sea that shapes our shorelines, and the powerful memories of days shared with loved ones, that inevitably shape our lives”.
